Princess Angelica Aldrich

Angelica is the first of four daughters born to King James of Ardenie and his second wife, Queen Jocelyn. She has two older half-siblings on her father’s side, as well as two younger, who didn’t survive infancy.

Angelica was born in the royal palace in Oran, and her birth was said to have been easy and painless on her mother - a true testimony to what a pleasant child, she would grow up to be. After her birth, she was placed in the care of lady Josephine Fitzroy-Merril, his father’s mistress, as she was able to nurse the Princess after the loss of her own child not long before. This started an unspoken tradition of all Queen Jocelyn’s children being nursed by Josephine - something the Queen saw as a natural way of having the King’s legitimate and illegitimate children bond.

Personality

Angelica was raised to be a confident, kind and well-presented princess, able to speak eloquently and pleasantly with anyone at court. She was trained to display great grace and poise, handling potentially awkward situations in a way that avoided embarrassing herself or guests. She does not get nervous or uncomfortable when in difficult circumstances. Angelica is not a completely stereotypical quiet, retiring princess and stated that she loved gardening and animals, both hobbies she picked up from her father’s mistress. She also shows sensitivity in social situations and abandoned decorum by quickly adapting to different cultural practices without offending or making anyone feel uncomfortable. Having seen her father’s fondness of his old vallet, Henry Karrow, Angelica believes in treating every body with basic, human kindness, no matter what their title is.
